Hello my beautiful ladies . So when it comes to makeup we all have done some mistakes . But don't quit practice , practice will definitely make you perfect . Many of us often get confused about makeup products . We always think a lot about what product will be suitable for our skin . Sometimes we also buy wrong products and the result is awful . So choosing right prodouct is a must and also you should know the proper technique . Sometimes a same product can be used in multiple ways . There are some basic questions which many people always ask me - should we have to prime our face before applying foundation ? What should we apply first concealer or foundation ? Can we begin with eye makeup ? Well something definitely depends upon your personal preferences..I can just tell you what I prefer to do . So makeup is a very simple thing . All you just need to love this and know some basic things about makeup . Let me try to help you by sharing some easy techniques which I think will be very helpful to you all . Let us discuss about some easy steps you need to follow while you are doing makeup .
Clean your skin properly before anything
First thing we have to do before putting anything on face is to clean our skin really well with a gentle cleanser . Remember preparing your skin before makeup is a must . Choose a cleanser according to your skin type . If you have oily skin use a gel or foam cleanser , if you have dry skin you should use a cream based cleanser and if you have sensitive skin then use a very gentle cleanser . You can consult a dermatologist for better guidance about this .
Apply moisturiser and primer
If you ask me I will not say using primer is a must but yes you can use it for better results . But before starting make up you should apply moisturizer on your face . Moisturisers hydrates your skin and helps all the products you apply next to sink into your skin . After that I love to apply some setting spray like MAC Prep+Prime fix+ to add some extra hydration to the skin and to prime my face . You can also use any primer you want .
Fill the brows
So next thing I prefer to do is to fill my brows with a good eye brow pencil . Using a proper eyebrow brush is very important . Well I use Sephora PRO Brow Brush #20 . At first I comb my eye brows with the spoolie end of the brush and then lining the lower line of my brows with a eye brow pencil and after that lining the top line of the brows by using the same pencil . Then I'm filling in lightly and brush through with the same spoolie end to get rid of the excess product . Then you can use a eyebrow gel . After that apply little bit of concealer by using the flat end of the brush under the brows to clean the excess product and get a perfect line . You can use any eye brow brush but make sure it should have a spoolie end .
Begin with eye makeup
I prefer to begin with eye makeup because you are able to remove excess fall out from under the eyes without ruining the face makeup.At first apply a eye primer on your lids. In case of eye shadows always at first apply a transition color and then put on other colors.Use dark colors in the outer corner and light colors to the inner corner of your eyes . Blend well.Don't forget to highlight the area bellow your eyebrows. In case of eye liner you can use liquid , gel or pencil eye liner , anything you want . Eye liners are available in many colors - blue , green , violate , brown etc but I love to use a jet black eye liner . you can use little kajal on your lower eye lids also and then smoke it out by using little black or brown eyeshadow by using a pencil brush . Use mascara on both the upper and lower lids of your eyes. Always curl your eyelashes with a eye lash curler before applying false eye lashes .
Foundation
The funtions of foundations are to even out your skin tone and making it look flawless . It conceals blemishes and discoloration of the face . You should choose a foundation according to your skin type . there are three types of foundation - powder , cream and liquid . I have normal skin and I prefer using a liquid foundation . When it comes to liquid foundations you should apply it by using a beauty blender and it should be a soft one . You can also aapply a cream foundation by using this beauty blenders . You can also use a flat top kabuki brush or a rounded head foundation brush . I use the original makeup sponge . Its a great makeup sponge I must say.It blends like a dream . You can also try makeup sponges from MAC and PAC .Another thing you should keep on mind while choosing foundation is that what coverage you want . There are foundations which give full , medium and light coverages . mac studio fix , Makeup studio HD , Este Lauder double wear etc are the high-coverage foundation . I don't stick to a single foundation . Sometimes I also prefer to mix two foundations and then apply . Sometimes I mix the foundation with a strobe cream to get extra glow . Choosing the proper shade is very important .Then damp the beauty blender and take some foundation on your hand and pick a little bit of product , apply on the centre of your face and then dab the sponge lightly on all over the face in a bouncing motion. Do not rub the sponge just dab it softly . Do not forget to apply foundation on neck .
Conceal the spots
When we need to hide our dark spots , blemishes the first thing that comes in our mind is a concealer . Find a shade which goes exactly with your skintone or you can also choose a lighter shade . The places where you need to apply concealer are - under your eyes , on top of your nose , forehead , chin , above the pimples and blemishes , eye-lids and cupid's bow . Apply concealer under your eyes to hide the dark circles and puffiness on your under-eye area . Draw a triangle with the base under your eyes and the and the pointing side on your cheeks and then extend it where almost your nose ends . You can also use little concealer on your eye-lids as a eye shadow primer . Then apply the concealer on top of your pimples , spots (if you have ) . Try to use a color correcting shade first on top of your spots and pimple and then use your concealer . But if you don't have a color-correcting palette there is a easy way to get it . Just mix your eye shadow color ( the color you want for your color correcting ) with your concealer and then apply it on the spots .
Contouring
Contouring can be done by a darker shade of a stick foundation , concealer or you can also use a contouring palette . Use the contouring shade on the hollow of your cheeks . If you have a larger forehead use little bit of contouring shade straight into the hairline . Basically in case of face contouring you need to draw a '3' in both the sides of your face . In case of nose contouring use an angled eye shadow brush . Take little product with your brush , start applying from the brow bone and go all the way to the end of your nose . Keep the lines light and gradually build it up .
Well for highlighting your features you should use your lighter contouring shade which is two tone lighter than your skin tone . Apply on the areas that catches light - under your eyes , on top of your nose , forehead , chin , and cupid's bow . I also prefer to use the lighter contouring shade below the darker contouring shade on the cheeks which will add extra dimension on your face .
Face Powder
There are two type of face powders - loose powder and pressed powders . Pressed powders are good for touch ups for on the go . I prefer using a colorless translucent powder for setting the makeup and make it long lasting . Use a fluffy kabuki brush for application .
Blush
Well in case of blush pink is my signature color . A touch of color will make your skin look alive and prety . At first just faking a smile and then take little bit of color on your fluffy brush then apply it on the apple of your cheeks ,the place should be two fingers away from your nose and also two fingers away from the bottom of your eyes then buffing it out in a circular motion . Use a beauty blender to blend well .
Bronzer and highlight
You can use any bronzer brush for application . I prefer to use a fan brush . Take little bit of product with your brush , tap off the excess . Then same as contouring draw a '3' from the top to the bottom of the face . Apply along with the hair line , hollow of your cheekbones , to your jawline and each sides of your nose . Then take a clean buffing brush to blend it . Well for highlighting with a powder highlighter I prefer using a fan brush and for cream highlighter I prefer to apply with my fingers . Apply it from temples to the top of your cheekbones in the shape of 'C' . Then take little bit of highlighter with your finger and apply on the tip of your nose and blend well . Then apply it on the center of your forehead , on the cupid,s bow , on the middle of your chin ,inner corner of your eyes and the area below your eyebrows .
Setting Spray is a must
Do not forget to apply setting spray when you have done you entire make up . Close your eyes and spray it over the entire face to keep your makeup long-lasting and radiant .
Finally lip color
The last step is applying a lip color . Always use a lip balm before putting lip color on your lips . Try lining with darker shade and filling inner corners, then apply a brighter shade of lip liner inside and finish with your lipstick to get a lasting and fuller lip. Well from lip glosses to matte stick lipsticks have wide varieties . Now a days liquid lipsticks are very popular for their long lasting power . It dry down quicker and gives the lips a velvety finish . If you need your lip color to last longer then you should go for matte or liquid lipsticks because due to the high moisture content lip glosses are easiest to rub off . I prefer using matte and liquid lipstick .They give the lip a luxurious and velvety finish and help the color to appear more rich and vibrant . Start applying from the center and then move outward towards one corner then another . Repeat the same step on the lower lip . I love to draw a cross sign in the middle of my upper lip for defining my upper lip . You can clean the excess color by using a concealer with a concealer brush . Then take a tissue paper , place it between your lips and then press your lips gently ,and then release .
